Philippine Science High School โ Southern Mindanao Campus (PSHS-SMC)'s pride, Osric Zoe Abellana Paman, was hailed as champion at the conclusion of the 2025 STARBOOKS Whiz Bee (Davao Region Edition) held at Sotogrande Hotel Davao, Davao City, on 26 September 2025.
Together with his fellow schoolmate, Sean Bryn Dajao Opiso, bagged the second place in the competition. Securing the 3rd spot was Princess Catherine A. Nacito of Sto. Tomas High School, Doniko D. Maglana of the University of the Immaculate Conception claimed 4th place, and Bien Margaret B. Jamisola from Brokenshire College Inc. ranked 5th place.
Winners, including players and coaches, received valuable prizes such as medals, gift certificates, and gadgets like mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches generously sponsored by various STARBOOKS partners. Notably, Paman was awarded a brand-new laptop from Revlv Solutions Inc.
This event is among the featured activities in the annual celebration of Regional Science and Technology Week 2025 in Davao City, conducted by the Department of Science and Technology - Science and Technology Information Institute and DOST-XI Regional Office. The elimination round, which was participated in by a total of 488 students, was conducted through Zoom on September 18, 2025.
